How to delete and discard records

1. Select the record(s) to discard.
2. From the module Menu bar, select either:
• File>Discard>Current (CTRL+D) to discard the currentThe record currently displayed in Details View or highlighted in List View (there is a faint dotted line around it). It is only possible to have one current record at a time. record.

• File> Discard>Selected to discard the selectedA selected record is one that has been chosen either on its own or to as part of a group of records. It is usual to select the records you want to be affected by an operation before performing the operation. Selected records are used in many instances, e.g. when a number of records are to be: discarded, saved in a group, or attached to another record. A selected record displays on screen with a blue background when in List View. records.

A warning message displays.

3. Click Yes to proceed with the discard.

   Note: Discarded records are only removed from the current list of records. They are not deleted from the database.

Note: Only users with the appropriate permission (daDelete) are able to delete a record.

   Note: The System checks whether the record(s) are attached to any primaryAn attachment is made from one record to another. The record from which the attachment is initiated is the Primary record; the record that is attached is called the Target. modules. If so, you must manually remove these attachments before the record can be deleted. For example, if a Parties record is attached to a Catalogue record, you must remove the attachment to the Catalogue record before you can delete the Parties record.
